Relationships are something special. Especially when they are authentic and genuine.
God made the first step in wanting a relationship with us.
“But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life” (Romans 5: 8-10: KJV)
Giving your life for someone is complete love. Jesus did this for us.
He showed us that He wanted us. He wants us to be with Him forever.
In the post, the from last week “Do not forget,” this was the last verse of the parable in Luke 12,
“Yes, a person is a fool to store up earthly wealth but not have a rich relationship with God.” (Luke 12:21;NLT)
God wants to have a relationship with us.
A lot of times, we are busy doing things for ourselves or God that we neglect to develop our relationship with Him.
James 4:8 reminds us, “Come close to God, and God will come close to you.” (NLT)
It is so important to spend time with Him.
So how can we spend time with Him?
1. Reading and studying His word
2.Memorizing His word
3. Pray
Let’s purpose to spend time with the Lord each day this week and the months to come. I know that our days are filled with many tasks and obligations, but let spending time with God be a priority.
“Lord Jesus, I want to have an ongoing relationship with you. I want to spend time with you every day. Please help me to make it a priority in my life. Prompt my heart when I have not spent time with you so that I can refocus my tasks to do it. In Jesus’ Name Amen”
