Have you been a witness for Christ today? How have you affected the people around you? In John 8:12 Jesus told the multitude, “ I am the light of the world. If you follow me, you won’t have to walk in darkness because you will have the light that leads to life” (NLT). Jesus is the light that shines through us. “You are the light of the world- like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden” (Matthew 5:14; NLT).
When it comes to witnessing, some of us face insecurities and fears. We fear what others will think of us or how they will react if they knew we were a Christian. Jesus calls us to “go into all the world” sharing the good news of the gospel with everyone (Mark 16:15; NLT). We have an obligation as believers to share Christ with the people around us. God may not have called you to Asia or South America specifically, but He has called you to the world around you, i.e your neighborhood, your job, your family, and your friends. While it may seem like a daunting task, let’s ask God for the courage to share Christ. Our focus has to be eternal. God calls us to be light.
Are you sure of the salvation of those around you? Have you shared the gospel with them?
