When we surrender our lives to God and believe in the saving grace of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross, we are called to a new life.
“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” 2 Corinthians 5:17 ESV
We are called to live a transformed life—one that is different from ourselves. How can we live faithfully for Christ in our everyday lives? Here are three ways: first, build a foundation of faith; second, love others; and lastly, bring glory to God.
Build a foundation of faith
Undoubtedly, we will go through difficult times in our lives. God will see us through, but we must build a foundation of knowing God. We can only do this if we study and understand His Word. In His goodness, God gave us the Bible to learn more about Him and to grow our faith.
“All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17 ESV.
The Bible can mold and shape us to be more like Christ. The Bible is our truth. We can have faith because we learn about God’s character. We know from the many narratives in the Bible that tell of how God worked and can work in our lives. The Bible is our sword to help us combat the situations we face in life.
Love others
Part of living our faith is applying what we read and study in God’s Word. Jesus told us the greatest commandments.
“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”
Matthew 22:36-40 ESV
Loving God is first and foremost, but we are called to love others, too. This can be the hardest one because people can seem unlovable. We have to remember that Christ loved us in our sins and died for us before we learned to love Him. We are called to love those around us. Paul, in his letter to the Corinthian church (chapter 13), tells us how to love one another.
“Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.” I Corinthians 13:4-7 ESV
Living faithfully for God means learning to love each other.
Bring glory to God
Our lives are not our own. We have a purpose to serve God and others. When we give our lives to Christ and believe in His name, we become a new person. With that new life, we gave up serving ourselves. We are no longer to be self-absorbed. We give our lives to one another. Our purpose is to bring glory to God.
“So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31 ESV.
We should strive to be a reflection of Christ. We are to do good works that glorify God’s name. We won’t always get it right, but we can strive with the strength of the Lord to live faithfully for Him. Living for Him brings glory to His name.

Great lesson! What stood out to me was the following: We should strive to be a reflection of Christ. We are to do good works that glorify God’s name. We won’t always get it right, but we can strive with the strength of the Lord to live faithfully for Him. Living for Him brings glory to His name.
Amen
Peering in the rear view mirror of our lives, we will continually realize God’s faithfulness to us in the past. Looking forward, we can rest with assurance of His continued faithfulness in the future. Thank you for the reminder of how we can be faithful to Christ.
