One of the attributes of God I am so grateful for is His faithfulness. He is the only one that I can count on 100% not to let me down. If things don’t go the way, I think that they should I know that God knows the plan.
In the life of Caleb, we can certainly see the faithfulness of God. God kept the promise He had made to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, which He passed on to their descendants, the children of Israel.
Caleb had seen the protection, faithfulness, and provision of God in his life and upon the nation of Israel.
He saw the mighty acts of God in Egypt with the signs and plagues. ( Exodus 8-13) He saw God part the Red Sea so that he could cross it on dry land. (Exodus 14) He saw how God provided manna and quail for them to eat. (Exodus 16:4-18)
When Israelites fought the Amalekites, God fought the battle for them. (Exodus 17:8-16) They were able to defeat this enemy with the help of the Lord.
So when the Israelites went to scout the land that God had promised, Caleb believed God would give them the land. Caleb saw no obstacles like the other ten spies.
“Two of the men who had explored the land, Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh, tore their clothing. 7 They said to all the people of Israel, “The land we traveled through and explored is a wonderful land! 8 And if the Lord is pleased with us, he will bring us safely into that land and give it to us. It is a rich land flowing with milk and honey. 9 Do not rebel against the Lord, and don’t be afraid of the people of the land. They are only helpless prey to us! They have no protection, but the Lord is with us! Don’t be afraid of them!”
Numbers 14:6-9 NLT
God rewards the faith of Caleb
“But my servant Caleb has a different attitude than the others have. He has remained loyal to me, so I will bring him into the land he explored. His descendants will possess their full share of that land.” Numbers 14:26 NLT
In our life as Christians, God continually shows us that we can trust Him. Just like in the life of Caleb, we see God leading and protecting. God does the same for us.
God is always working. Are you willing to acknowledge the faithfulness of God in your life?
