Prayer

Everything

February 12, 2020

Do you have someone in your life that you talk to every day about everything? Hopefully, you do. Have you thought about interacting with God in the same way? As a Christian, we know that we should pray, but do you pray about everything?

Many times we face challenges in our day to day life that seem like more than we can handle. I am sure you talk to the Lord about them, but do you talk to the Lord about situations in which you think that you can handle yourself? Situations that do not seem impossible?

Paul in Philippians 4:6 states, “Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done” (NLT). When we read this verse we pair it with don’t worry about anything, we should pray about issues in which we are concerned. Everything encompasses all things. Just like it says don’t worry about anything. We should pray about everything. Even the things you do not usually think that need prayer. Tasks or issues you handle naturally still should be offered to God in prayer.

In I Thessalonians 5:17, Paul tells us to “pray without ceasing” (KJV). Meaning do not stop. Continuously. I have wondered how can a person do that? Pray continually? Well, if you pray about everything, there will never be a lack of prayer requests.

So here is my challenge to you and myself. Try to start praying about everything. Leave nothing out. We depend on God for a lot of things in our lives. Why not rely on Him actively for everything. Why not talk over everything with Him. He is the perfect guide for our life, why not include Him.
