Forward-thinking

November 28, 2018

I am sure we have all thought about our futures.  We have set goals about what we want to do in the next five to ten years.  We know that where we are now is not maybe where we want to be. We are thinking beyond our current situation. We have hope for something better.

When we are walking through difficult times in our lives, we should at some point look to the future.

2 Corinthians 4: 17-18 states “ For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever! So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.”

When we go through hard times, they will not last forever.  It is the passing of time that a new day will come.  While we should always remember to learn from our current trial, we should not forget it is a temporary situation. God has something greater for us in the end.  Whether it is on this earth or in eternity, it is far better than we can imagine.  This is hope.  No matter what you are going through, God is always with you.

“In his kindness, God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation.” (I Peter 5: 10)

What hope have you found in your current situation or trial?

  1. Nice, very nice and we should all be so thankful for the time we have. Things come to us and we will be tested but how do we handle these difficulties is what matters the most.
    Thanks for sharing.
