In the beginning

January 1, 2020

In the beginning, these are words you might be familiar with if you have read the book of Genesis. (Genesis 1:1).

As the first week of the new year has begun, think back here have been many beginnings in your life.

Starting a:

job

school

marriage

family

faith in God

Everything we experience in life had a starting point.

It is essential to be thoughtful and reflective.

Let’s remember how we started at various stages of life. We have learned about ourselves and, hopefully, about God. God was with us at the beginning.

In this new year, let’s be mindful of what God might have planned for us as we start.

I know that this verse is quoted many times, but as you are starting this new year remember what God told Jeremiah,

For I know the plans I have for you”—this is the Lord’s declaration—“plans for your well-being, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11. (CSB)

The same is true for us in our lives. As we start this year, know that God has a plan; nothing takes Him by surprise.

God never says, oops!
