Yes, I know it’s February, and technically, the year is no longer new, but reflection is essential.
When we look at life, we can see the ups and downs we face. If we have built our foundation on the Word of God, when the storms come in our lives we have a firm place to stand on.
God’s Word has stood the test of time because it is true. God is true and He is faithful.
When we look back, it should not be with regret or shame. We should look back with a reflection on God’s grace and goodness to us. He has answered our undeserving prayers and shown mercy when we have sinned against Him.
Looking back reminds us that we can’t navigate life without God. When we try to do it on our own we fail.
Looking forward brings joy because everything we have learned in the past has built our faith for the future. We have seen God work, so we know He can do what seems impossible to us.
God has always been faithful to His children. I have never seen Him give up on us. His mercy extends more than we can know.
Looking forward reminds us that the God that sustained us in the past is the same God that will sustain us in the future. God can be fully trusted to care for us no matter the circumstances.
So, while we are in the present, we must live for His glory alone. We are to do good works in His name. We are to hold fast to the hope of living with God forever, but until that time comes, we must live for Him right now.
Thank you for reminding to review God”s faithfulness in the past; therefore, I can continue to trust Him in the future.
