The winds and the rains will come. Living on this earth, I am sure that you have lived through a storm. You have experienced rain, thunder, lighting, and you will most likely reencounter them over and over.
Just like the storms in nature, our life will face storms (trials). No matter how long you live, you will experiences something. Jesus told His disciples that they would have trouble in this world.
And as disciples of Jesus, we will experience the same.
Troubles,
“Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy.” (James 1:2; NLT)
Hatred from others,
“If the world hates you, remember that it hated me first. 19 The world would love you as one of its own if you belonged to it, but you are no longer part of the world. I chose you to come out of the world, so it hates you. 20 Do you remember what I told you? ‘A slave is not greater than the master.’ Since they persecuted me, naturally they will persecute you. And if they had listened to me, they would listen to you.” (John 15:18-20;NLT)
Tests/temptations
“And remember, when you are being tempted, do not say, “God is tempting me.” God is never tempted to do wrong, and he never tempts anyone else. Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away. These desires give birth to sinful actions. And when sin is allowed to grow, it gives birth to death.”
(James 1:13-15;NLT)
As Christian, we should know that we will experience some like of trial or test in our life. It will happen because Jesus said it would, but also because we live in a fallen and sinful world.
By knowing that storms will come in our life, it helps us to view life differently. It shows us we need to put our trust in God.
We are not in control of our lives. God is. But remember, He is always with us through the storms of life. He will never fail us.
Are you trusting Him?

Thanks for this reminder, Dwan! The chaos in our country is so troubling. I need to rest more in God’s sovereign care.
Sure miss seeing your family!
Me too. We have to take comfort in that.
