Sharing Him

October 20, 2021

Some things come naturally, but for some of us, sharing Christ with others can be challenging. For me, sometimes it is the fear of rejection.

When we witness to others, we tend to pressure ourselves to “make the sale,” so to speak, and have that person decide to follow Christ. So when that does not happen, we see it as a failure on our part.

Not everyone we talk to about Christ will decide to follow Him. We need to be ready and willing to tell others about Christ.

It is one of our purposes as a follower of Christ.
“So we are Christ’s ambassadors; God is making his appeal through us. We speak for Christ when we plead, “Come back to God!” For God made Christ, who never sinned, to be the offering for our sin, so that we could be made right with God through Christ.” 2 Corinthians 5:20-21 NLT

I am sure that I have written it in a post before, but you don’t have to go all the way across the world to share the love of Christ. It will most likely be the people you encounter on a daily or weekly basis.

It may not be a stranger. It could be a co-worker or neighbor.

“As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon possessed begged to go with him. But Jesus said, “No, go home to your family, and tell them everything the Lord has done for you and how merciful he has been.” So the man started off to visit the Ten Towns of that region and began to proclaim the great things Jesus had done for him; and everyone was amazed at what he told them.” Mark 5:18-20 NLT

Do you see how Jesus told this man to minister in his community? We can do the same.

In Colossians, we read about Paul’s request,
“Pray for us, too, that God will give us many opportunities to speak about his mysterious plan concerning Christ. That is why I am here in chains. Pray that I will proclaim this message as clearly as I should.” Colossians 4:3-4 NLT

Even in his chains, Paul wanted to proclaim Christ.
So I pray that wherever you are, that you will proclaim Christ. If you are called to another place and culture, go there, but if not, do it in the area you are in right now.

Further down in Colossians 4, Paul encourages them on this,“ Live wisely among those who are not believers, and make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be gracious and attractive so that you will have the right response for everyone.” Colossians 4:5-6 NLT

Let’s live in such a way that we show Christ as we share Him.
