Today is a critical day in our country. I am talking about election day. We as a nation have the opportunity to pick our leaders. Politics have divided our nation in our recent past. As believers, we can get caught up in the political debates for whichever party or person you believe. Let’s not forget who is in control of everything. “ Everyone must submit to governing authorities. For all authority comes from God, and those in positions of authority have been placed there by God.” (Romans 13:1-2) Our job as believers is to support truth and obedience to the Word of God. We are to pray for our leaders sincerely. Name them specifically one by one.
1. Pray for them to come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ
2. Pray that they will faithfully follow and obey the Word of God.
As believers, we are called to do good. We are to be careful how we speak and what we do. Our conduct should reflect Christ. To know the truth, we must study God’s Word daily. Are the issues you stand for honoring the Lord and His Word? We will be held accountable for our conduct when we stand before God on the day of judgment. So as we see the results of this election day, remember no matter what happens God is still the ruler of everything.
Do you stand for truth? Do you truly and faithfully pray for our governmental leaders?
