Have you ever wanted to know more about a specific word in the Bible, such as grace, peace, or righteousness?

If you want to learn more about a word in the Bible, you can do a word study. A word study is studying a specific word in the Bible.

While there are many words in the Bible, there are some that stand out.

One of the first things you should do is pray about what word to study, understand, and insight as you study.

In order to do a word study, you will need your Bible, a dictionary, and a concordance.

After you have found the word, you want to study, you need to look up the word in the dictionary English and a Bible dictionary. This will give you the meaning of the word.

Next, you will use your concordance to look up where and how many times the word appears in the Bible. In the concordance, you should look up the different meanings in Hebrew or Greek.
You might want to study one or more of the word’s meanings if it has multiple meanings, i.e., love.

You then look up all of the references in which that word appears. Then you want to study how the meaning of the word is related to the context in which it is found in scripture.

Write those down to help you remember what you are learning about the word. This will help you develop a Biblical foundation.

As you study the word within scripture, you can ask questions about the word, such as how can I apply the meaning of this word to my life? Or what has this word taught me about God.

When we study the Bible, our goal is to learn about the God of the universe and develop a relationship with Him. We should want to learn to trust Him, because we have His pattern of faithfulness in the Word. We should also want to learn how to obey His word that we might bring glory to His name.
