During our time here on earth, God has given us all a calling as His disciples. Like the disciples in the Bible, we are to follow this command.
“And then he told them, “Go into all the world and preach the Good News to everyone.” (Mark 16:15; NLT).
“Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” (Matthew 28:19-20; NLT).
First, we are to go. It could be to a faraway place or across the street. The world is all around us. We are to share with people the good news of Jesus. We are to mentor others to obey the commands Jesus has given us. So as a believer in Jesus, wherever we are, or whatever we do, we should be going, sharing Jesus and helping people grow in their faith.
Whatever your “day job” is (unless you are in full-time ministry) we have a purpose to share Christ. We may never be a New York Times Best-selling author or world-renowned motivational speaker, but in your corner of your everyday life, you should purpose to share Jesus. It looks different for all of us, but we all should have this common goal.
It is vital to know that our ultimate purpose is to glorify God by telling others about His saving grace and goodness. It is essential to focus on expanding God’s kingdom for His glory!
So if you have a Bible study with a friend or tell your neighbor about God’s goodness in your life, we should always be prayerfully seeking ways to share God with others and encourage believers in their daily walk with the Lord.
How have you shared Jesus with the people around you?
I would love to hear about it. Leave me comment or email me.
